COMBO COURSE INTRODUCTION

The Advanced Emergency First Aid Responder (First Aid Level 3) training program is designed to equip you with the highest level of first aid skills and knowledge, enabling you to respond effectively to complex medical emergencies and trauma situations.

During this course, participants will gain insights into various aspects of first aid, including assessing and managing different types of injuries, performing CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation), and addressing common medical emergencies, including pregnancy and emergency childbirth.

Completing First Aid Level 3 certification demonstrates your commitment to becoming a highly skilled and capable advanced first responder. This course is ideal for caregivers, building contractors, mining contractors, and anyone dedicated to enhancing their first aid expertise to the highest level.

COURSE CONTENT

  • Anatomy and physiology.
  • Legal and ethical First Aid – including consent.
  • Personal safety.
  • Emergency scene management.
  • Primary & secondary assessment.
  • CPR – adult, child, & infant.
  • AED – Automated external defibrillator.
  • Respiratory distress – including artificial respiration.
  • Choking – blocked airway; adult, child, & infant.
  • Identify & manage shock.
  • Cardiac arrest & strokes.
  • Thermal stress (environmental emergencies).
  • Wounds & bleeding.
  • Amputations & chest injuries.
  • Burns & fractures.
  • Abdominal & pelvic injuries.
  • Dislocations, strains, & sprains.
  • Unconsciousness & fainting.
  • Head & spinal injuries.
  • Poisoning, bites, & stings.
  • Environmental injuries & illnesses.
  • Water emergencies (drowning).
  • Exposure to communicable diseases.
  • Emergency childbirth.
  • Records of incident / accident.

ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Read, write, & understand English.
  • SP-230802: Intermediate Emergency First Aid Responder (when doing Level 3 you will also cover SP-230802).

ASSESSMENT

  • Workbook completion.
  • Practical demonstration of First Aid skills.

AWARD

  • QCTO Statement of Result. (approx. 2 – 4 months).
  • Digital certificates only.
  • Valid for 3 years.
  • Completion certificates will be issued within 10 working days from successful completion of training.
  • If found ‘not yet competent’, an attendance certificate will be issued.
