Emergency Scene Management is important in identifying emergency medical situations quickly and correctly and can help you to preserve lives and prevent the patient’s condition from becoming worse.
Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) is performed on a person who has stopped breathing and whose heart has stopped beating. CPR is a combination of artificial circulation and rescue breathing.
This workshop is designed to teach the layman how to preform CPR during a medical emergency. CPR is a life-preserving procedure that can mean the difference between a full and a partial recover and life or death.
Contents of this workshop:
- Medico-legal implications – incl. consent
- Emergency scene management
- Primary & secondary survey
- CPR – one person; adult, child, infant
Respiratory distress – incl. artificial respiration
Duration:
3+ hours (depending on the size of the group).
Requirements:
Understand English
Math literacy (ABET Level 3 – Grade 7)
Assessment:
Practical demonstration of CPR
If found ‘not yet competent’, an attendance certificate will be issued
Award:
First Aid Training SA Certificate of Competence – Valid for 1 year.
Digital certificate.
Issued within 10 working days from successful completion of training.
